Wantage Town Football Club has been awarded the FA Charter Community Standard, the highest FA Charter Standard attainable in grass roots football.

THE FREDS are dedicated to creating coaching environments which encourage young players to develop their technique, skill, creativity and game understanding, and the Under 15 team is making great progress using a constraints led approach and match simulations.

Players are challenged with game realistic problems and encouraged to explore the possible solutions, giving them greater ownership of the learning process.

The 2018/19 Under 15 team has been promoted in successive seasons, from the Oxford Mail Youth E League to the B League, each time as champions, and after consolidating their position in the B, hope to improve again.

THE FREDS worked on playing out from the back and through the thirds for the best part of last season, fine-tuning pattern and variation.

"The players have done incredibly well in possession this season. It's been an absolute pleasure to watch at times."

The campaign ahead will focus on shape, awareness, concentration and discipline when out of possession.

"It's tougher to nail down because you are reacting, not dictating."
